Two MUST-HAVE Browser Extensions for Holiday Shopping

Once upon a time, I was blissfully organized.  By this time of year, all of my carefully written lists had been checked off and all presents were wrapped in a gorgeous coordinating theme complete with trimmings.  Add a husband, kids, family vacations, loads of family birthday within a month of Christmas, end-of-year kids performances, an over-booked schedule of practices and activities for each kid, and I’m lucky if I remember to change out of my slippers before getting into the car in the morning.

That’s one of the main reasons I LOVE shopping online this time of year.  However, you won’t catch me doing it without some of my old organized ways –– but in a new easy, automatic way.

First up:  EBATES.  I’ve used this one for years and have received hundreds of dollars back (I’m nearing 4 figures!) for clicking through the EBATES website before completing a purchase I was going to make anyway.  I often forget, but it still works even after you’ve added items to your cart.  Just head over to EBATES, search the store, click the link, then check-out.  It doesn’t take long to get your “Big Fat Check”.  Mine goes straight to my PayPal account.  Most stores I shop with participate and I get 1% & up.  I’ve even received 14% back on several occasions, although I’d say the norm is about 3%.  They now have a browser extension to help remind you!

Honey!  This one is pretty new, but definitely give it a look!  If you’re like me and have check-out paralysis when you see a “enter promo code” box, you need this.  Some stores really don’t have coupon codes, but that little box is built-in to their software.  Others always have codes and you should never checkout without them.  Skip opening a new window and searching retailmenot.com & other sites and just install Honey in your browser.  It searches and pulls codes for you, automatically.  It will even check and apply the best ones for you!

Happy shopping!  If you have a another great resource, be sure to share it below!
